Spring 2027 · The first voyage

The Long Way
Home.

Two women, one house, and a great deal of light. This is how the first Brass Sailor collection was photographed.

Our story

Brass Sailor is a study in reinvention, where forgotten textiles, heirloom details, and relics of the past are reworked into modern silhouettes with edge, intention, and romance. Rooted in the spirit of discovery, the brand draws inspiration from vintage garments, maritime nostalgia, antique interiors, and timeworn craftsmanship, transforming them into pieces designed for the present.

Each collection blurs the line between history and modernity: structured yet undone, feminine yet rebellious, nostalgic yet sharply current. Corsetry meets utility. Delicate florals collide with rugged tailoring. Familiar fabrics are recut into silhouettes that feel unexpected, editorial, and alive again.

At its core, Brass Sailor is about giving permanence to pieces once forgotten, preserving their character while reshaping them into something boldly contemporary. Clothing meant to feel collected over time, worn with instinct, and styled like a story still unfolding.

a wardrobe with memory

A needlepoint of the castle in a gilt frame, stitched with the words Joslyn Castle, Omaha, 1903.

The house

A castle on a hill in Omaha.

Joslyn Castle was finished in 1903: stained glass, carved staircases, a ballroom, and a garden left a little wild. The collection was photographed room by room, following the light.

Room by room

Inside, with the light.

  • A woman stands at the foot of a carved wooden staircase, lit by a chandelier and a leaded glass door.
  • A woman lies back in a stained-glass window seat with one leg raised against the frame.
  • A hand lifts the edge of a cream lace top above a plaid trouser, close up.
  • A woman stretches out across a blue velvet sofa in a bright parlour.
  • A woman reclines on a green velvet bench below three stained-glass windows.
  • A woman lies on a sunlit wooden floor, the fringe of her trousers fanned out around her.
  • Two women stand together on a landing beneath leaded windows and wall sconces.

I · The Compass

Cotton, sun, and a long porch.

The Compass Dress sets the tone for the season. Eyelet at the hem, scalloped at the neck, built to read effortless from the first wear.

II · The Long Evening

Cutwork, by hand.

The Porthole Dress closes the collection: a bias-cut maxi for the long evening that doesn’t end in a hurry.

A woman in a cream blouse and dark trousers leans on a carved wooden table by a bright bay window.

III · On the Water

Trousers that move.

Pleated front, slim at the hip, generous below the knee. Dry-touch cotton that stays clean from morning coffee to dock cocktails.

Outside

Stone walls, and a garden gone green.

The last frames were made outside, under the towers and in the ivy.

  • A woman perches on a low branch in the garden below the stone walls of the castle.
  • A woman lifts a long dotted scarf in the wind beneath a stone tower.
  • A woman stands framed in a carved stone arch above a bank of white flowers.
